Y:Haunted Realities II. (X-Ray)

Y: Haunted Realities II. is part of the spring program diptych, framed by the metaphor of hauntings that shape our everyday even though they happened long time ago —remnants of power, never-healed traumas, or habitual customs. Y: Haunted Realities I. (Monument) presented the performance Monument of Trust: Arena by Serbian visual artist Ivana Ivković in co-production with the Bazaar festival. The second event, Y: Haunted Realities II. (X-Ray), will open the X10 Theater as an archaeological landscape exhibition, interwoven with intense physical and digital performances.

The subtitle X-Ray emphasizes the urge to see and understand acts beneath the surface of contemporary polycrisis. Instead of observing symptoms, we, together with artists, choose to take a view through: we want to understand all ecological, economic, psychophysical (and perhaps even housing) crises. We are interested in socio-political alienation, loss of control, and apathy. If we look deep enough, we might meet with the ghosts that haunt us. And perhaps then, in the present momentum, we will discover something new—overlooked places of resistance, sources of unimagined strength, or empowering solidarity.
