The WWW band was founded in Prague at the beginning of the 1990s, at the end of the communist era in Czechoslovakia. WWW was among the first bands experimenting with rap in the Czech Republic. Later, the band began to use acoustic instruments and took a different direction than the classic rap production.
WWW uses authorial stylisation and authenticity (as it’s common in hip hop). The music combines hip hop, industrial music, electronic music and free composition in an original way. The founding member Ondřej Anděra is a film director and lyricist. Lubomír Typlt is a painter: his texts provoke the imagination of the audience, their urgent character is intensified by a variety of poetic and phonetic features. The texts by Ondřej Anděra use the rhythmical possibilities of a language in an abstract way.
