Ó is the ode praising the former Sedlec Brewery, its shapes, materials, hiding places, holes and crannies.
Ó is a game that we play with the space and the space may echo it. We don’t know the rules yet. Maybe the Brewery will start to play with us. Or with you?
Ó is the dream-like reality.
In this visual-sound site specific performance, we explore both real and fictional narratives hidden behind the boundaries of the visible brick walls. Let us all set out on the journey to unimportant, forgotten places, to see the remains of things, rubbish, torsos, packages and void.
Have you ever thought about the places you repeatedly visit in your dreams ? Can you describe them? Are they still the same or do they change? What’s the difference between dream-like reality and the mundane reality? Is everything possible in a dream? Or is anything forbidden? Can you imagine a dream that would take place in the Sedlec Brewery? And what if everything happening around you right now is already a dream? What if there’s hole (thirty metres deep) under your chair? What if there’s a wormhole leading to a different universe in the ceiling above your head?
Shu and Hu discussed how they could repay the kindness of emperor Hundun, their host. “All men,” they said, “have seven openings so they can see, hear, eat, and breathe. But Hundun alone doesn’t have any. Let’s try boring him some!”
Every day they bored another hole, and on the seventh day Hundun died.

ABOUT THE ŠPATNÉ DIVADLO COMPANY
The Špatné divadlo company was established after several collaborations of Jana Stárková, Ondřej Menoušek and Jakub Vaverka that began to cooperate already during their studies.
Together with Maria Komarova, they created an object fairy tale for children (Jeníček a Mařenka), a few dance performances (Lavabo, Sny, Euchrid) and also performances of other genres (Moře klidu, selfie chi). They also lead workshops and encourage each other in their individual projects. The company’s aim is to explore new topics and methods and combine different forms of art.
We are the Špatné divadlo (Bad theatre) company, a theatre company with no ambitions.
