Y: CELESTIAL GARDEN: TO BE POROUS / FOR LAVENDER AND NETTLE by ERNEST BOROWSKI (PL)
19. 9. FRI 21:15
Performance
Lavender and nettle are becoming ritualistic companions and agents of transformation. The first is synonymous with care and softness, the other one maintains distance by its prickliness.
Lavender, nettle. A human being, voice, sound. Shared body. Monster. A performative ritual about decaying bodies, collective fermentation and porous humanity.

A performance by ERNEST BOROWSKI, a Warszaw-based artist and researcher whose immersive performances explore themes of fragility, proximity and interspecies relationships. Their practice combines a multitude of media – digital media, performance and material installations with critical queer and ecofeminist theory. Ernest has exhibited and performed all over Poland and under the pseudonym bakblivv, they perform as a DJ in the club scene.

Sound performance
MALA HERBA is a solo music project of artist, researcher and queer music activist Zosia Hołubowska. It´s aesthetics and sound quality are based on traditional music, magic, and demonology of Eastern Europe. Mala Herba’s performances are sonic rituals, celebrating body and sex-positivity. Powerful, witchy vocals are weaved into hypnotic beats, cold baselines and, romantic synthesizer melodies. The music draws from darkwave and industrial techno but often turns into experimental polyrhythmic soundscapes. Mala Herba played at festivals like Tauron Nowa Muzyka (PL), Popfest (AT), Fekete Zaj (HU), Bent Fest (UK).
