JaWa is a simple story of a social enterprise established in September 2021 near the place where the two artists Turkowski & Nowacka live and work. The story will be told from their perspective, but the two core workers of JaWa were Jan and Waldemar (and the name of the enterprise comes directly from their first names), who found this job after several difficult chapters in their lives.
It’s a documentation of 18 months of working together, especially two challenging “business trips” to Warsaw following an invitation to be a part of the theatre season “Tough Love” at Komuna Warszawa. However, at some point it becomes “a moving story about dignity, freedom, wealth and poverty, friendship and addiction. The show's creators combine documentary images with an ironic narrative and moments that completely abandon irony, as in the scene with the difficult personal confession, which is the emotionally heaviest one in this strong, multidimensional performance.“ (Przemek Gulda)
